Remembering John C. Bogle

John C. (Jack) Bogle (1929 - 2019), after whom the Bogleheads® are named, was founder of the Vanguard Group and creator of the world's first retail index mutual fund. Mr. Bogle wrote several investing books. After retiring from the Vanguard Group in 2000, he was president of the Bogle Financial Markets Research Center and worked tirelessly as an investor advocate.

In addition to his business career, John Bogle was an author of ten books, published many of his speeches, wrote papers for trade and academic publications, and op-eds to newspapers. He also participated in numerous long video interviews, and was featured at many Bogleheads Conferences.
