Introducing the Jonathan Clements Getting Going on Savings Initiative

Post on: May 8, 2025 by Mike Piper

Hello, Bogleheads! The Bogle Center has exciting news today.

As Jason Zweig announced in his article today, there’s a new Jonathan Clements book and a related new initiative that the Bogle Center has been working on, along with Jason Zweig, Allan Roth, J-PAL North America (a research center based at MIT), and the city of Boston’s Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity.

As many of you know, in 2024, Jonathan was diagnosed with a terminal illness. He decided to use the proceeds from a final book to kick-start a new program that will directly help young adults (especially from low-income households) to set themselves up for long-term financial success. The Bogle Center is proud to assist by administering charitable donations to the initiative.

You can find more about the Jonathan Clements Getting Going on Savings Initiative here on the Bogle Center website.

Additional information about the study is available here on the website of J-PAL North America.

All the royalties from Jonathan’s new book The Best of Jonathan Clements (edited by Bill Bernstein, Christine Benz, Allan Roth, and Jason Zweig) will support the initiative. You can find the book here on Amazon.

Anybody interested in supporting the new initiative directly via a tax-deductible donation can do so via the Bogle Center, which is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The Bogle Center is excited to play a role in this program, which we believe furthers our mission of expanding John C. Bogle’s legacy by promoting the principles of successful investing and financial well-being through education and community. We hope that you feel the same way.

Best regards,
Christine Benz,
Bill Bernstein,
Karen Damato, and
Mike Piper,
on behalf of The John C. Bogle Center for Financial Literacy
